The Wilderness of NYC

Who would have known that in the urban jungle that is NYC, there would be this little niche? Yesterday we went exploring through Van Cortland Park which is practically in my backyard! I walked past it so many times but had never gone in to check it out.

 I think this will end up becoming a new favorite place of mine. It was so nice to sit by the water and read a book, but at the same time it is a great place to go running too. There are soccer fields, ponds, open grassy areas, and more. It's actually bigger than Central Park.

 I felt like my outfit inadvertently matched the more rustic setting. It's also finally starting to feel like fall, so I'm loving breaking out my warmer clothes. Sweater season here we come!

 I'm loving New York so far, and I've had some of the best opportunities since I've been here. Yesterday we went into East Village to do some shopping and eat crepes.

While we were taking this picture, the owner of the house we were in front of came back with their groceries. Needless to say they gave us some strange looks, but that's the beauty of a big city right? The people who think you're weird are probably never going to see you again...

My Night on Top of The Strand

On Sunday night, I got to spend the evening again with the lovely Victoria (torihatesyou) and Drew (DrewDoleski) at The Top of the Strand. And can I first say, what a view! It's moments like this when it truly hits me, I'm in New York, baby!

Fashion's Night Out!

I had a blast this Fashion's Night Out and it was especially awesome because I got to meet up with Victoria (@torihatesyou) for the festivities.

First off, my outfit. I wanted to make a statement but I needed to make sure I was comfortable for all the trecking around I would be doing.

 It was such a fun evening. I love seeing "fashion people" and not-so-fashion-y people come together to celebrate something that is so near and dear to my heart. I love being surrounded in this world, and especially in New York. I hope to never lose this feeling of excitement about it.
